DIY Lip Scrub

Hi guys!  So I was browsing on Pinterest (as per usual) and I kept coming across all these lip scrubs that you can make at home.  I was immediately drawn to this idea because I love matte lip products, so my lips tend to get pretty dry no matter how much lip balm I seem to use.  So, I thought it would be fun to try, plus it looked really easy – which is my speed when it comes to craftiness.  I chose one that boasted to be similar to the ones you can buy at Lush, because you can make different flavors and they are totally edible!  I have used and enjoyed the lip scrubs at Lush, so I was pretty excited.

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette

Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette     Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette

Hey guys!  I finally got my hands on the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette!!  I’ve been wanting to get my hands on this as soon as it launched a while back because, I mean, Gwen Stefani…right?!  Let’s just talk about the part that wooed me the most with this palette-the packaging.  This really shouldn’t be any surprise though, because Gwen is just so chic.  It is just SO beautiful, I almost didn’t even want to use it in fear of ruining it.  I really love the colors in this palette because it’s the perfect combination of nudes with those few pops of color that are super wearable.  Also, it has a good combination of both shimmers and mattes.  The names of the colors are really fun too!

2016 Trend: Color Correcting

color correctingHey guys!  So it looks like one of the big trends of 2016 is going to be color correcting!  I’m seeing so many makeup artists and beauty gurus using color correcting on Instagram and Youtube lately.  Also, I’ve noticed brands coming out with new color correctors.  Urban Decay just came out with the Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid, available in mint, yellow, peach, lavender, and pink.  Sephora just released their Sephora + PANTONE UNIVERSE Correct + Conceal Palette, available in a light/medium palette and a medium/dark palette.  Tarte also just came out with the Rainforest of the Sea Wipeout Color Correcting Palette.  A couple of more affordable favorites are the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal Set Orange, Yellow, Green Correctors and the NYX Cosmetics Color Correcting Concealer 3CP04 .

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting MistHey everyone!  So as you might already know from my previous post, I finally got my hands on a couple of the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea products!  So excite!  I really wanted to try the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist because I just really love facial mists.  The awesome thing about this one though, is that it is supposed to be a 4-in-1 facial spray.  It claims to act as a primer, a setting spray, a hydrator, and a skin refresher.  Which is perfect because why use 4 different products when you can use just one?!  Definitely a time saver!

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Broad Spectrum FoundationHey everyone!  Literally so excited to have finally gotten a couple of the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea products!!  I picked them up at my local Sephora location inside JCPenney.  They actually didn’t have the collection out yet, but they got it from their secret hiding place for me when I asked about it-talk about VIB!  One of the products I purchased was the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Foundation, which I’ve been really itching to try.  First of all, can we please talk about the packaging?  It is beyond beautiful.  It comes in a frosted glass bottle and has a dropper to dispense the product, which is pretty fun to use.

Spring 2016 Trend: Bright Blue Eyes

Spring 2016 TrendHey everyone!  So one thing I have been noticing that looks like it’s going to be a Spring 2016 trend is a pop of blue on the eyes.  The shades I’ve been seeing vary, but they are all in the very bright blue family – such as teal, aqua, and cyan shades.  A lot of people have been applying this pop of color in the form of eyeliner, but I have also seen this placed on the inner corners of the eyes as well.  I personally think, if done correctly, this can be so gorgeous!  Plus, after what seems like an eternity of winter, who doesn’t like a pop of color in anticipation for spring?!  I think these shades are pretty versatile as well; you can use it in a more understated way, for a subtle daytime pop of color, or you can go all out and get as creative and bold as you want.  I think this trend is beautiful and rate it a HOT for spring/summer!  The eyeliner shown above is NYX Cosmetics Jumbo Eye Pencil Electric Blue .  Let me know what you think and share your looks with us!

Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(marc)able Full Coverage Foundation Concentrate Review

Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation

Hi everyone!  Welcome to my first post!!  I decided to start out on a high note with a product that I absolutely LOVE!  Admittedly, I have a bit of a foundation obsession, but the Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(marc)able Full Coverage Foundation Concentrate is amazing.  It is SO full coverage, while not having to use a ton of product.  Honestly, I only have to use like 3 drops and it covers my entire face, which is good since it is a bit on the pricey side.  It’s probably one of the more expensive foundations I have ever purchased, at $55.  I feel like it’s well worth the price though.  It somehow manages to be super full coverage, while also not feeling heavy or cakey on the skin.  It almost has a velvety feel after you apply it.  Also, it gives you that flawless air brushed finish while still looking natural at the same time because it just blends so nicely into the skin.  Personally, I like the way this applies with a flat top foundation brush better than a beauty blender, I think it makes it look more natural, but either way still looks beautiful.
