Hey guys! Today is going to be my June Birchbox unboxing! If you are unfamiliar with Birchbox and how it works, check out my first Birchbox unboxing where I explain how this beauty subscription box works! Well, let’s just dive in to this month’s box, shall we?!
Let’s just start off with the most exciting product in this month’s box, which was the new Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel in the shade ‘5 Deep’. If you haven’t heard, Benefit just came out with a TON of new eyebrow products, which is super exciting! While the Gimme Brow isn’t really a ‘new’ product, they did reformulate it and added this super awesome new packaging. I was even more excited to receive this because I haven’t actually ever tried the Gimme Brow yet and have been wanting to. The only down side is that it is a bit darker than I’d prefer, but with a light hand I think I can make it work.
The next product I got was the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in the shade ‘Gilded Honey’. This was the second most exciting product in the box for me, since I have been dying to try this highlighter. This is absolutely gorgeous! It is so pigmented and such a beautiful golden shade. I have used this several times already and it actually shows up on my fair skin, but also isn’t too dark.
Next, I got the Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow. I have never heard of this brand before. This claims to be a BB cream that controls shine and masks imperfections while providing a illuminating glow to the skin. You could use this by itself or under/mixed in your foundation. It looks like just a normal BB cream when you squeeze it out, but then when you rub it in, you can see how illuminating it is. I’m interested in seeing how this pairs with my foundation in providing an allover glow to the skin.
The next item I received was the Balance Me Congested Skin Serum. This is supposed to calm your skin, help with blemishes, refine your pores, and overall balance your skin out. It also claims to ‘smell amazing’, which let me tell you it does not. The best thing I can compare the scent to is one of those citronella candles that you burn to keep mosquitos away…not my thing. It also has a very strange runny milky texture. I did use this a couple times, it didn’t really seem to do much, but they do say you are supposed to use skin care for 30 days before you can see if it makes a difference.
The last thing I received was the Lavanila Healthy Sunscreen Sport Luxe Face & Body Cream SPF 30…that’s a mouthful. This is a mineral sunscreen that is supposed to be sweat and water resistant. Let’s be honest, sunscreen is important, but it’s not the most exciting thing to receive, especially because I’m pretty sure last month I got a sunscreen as well. This sunscreen is super thick and gritty, and kind of an unusual greyish color. It has a clay smell to it as well.
Alright, that’s it for June’s Birchbox unboxing! Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what you think of them! Also, if you subscribe to Birchbox as well, let me know what you received in your box this month!
