Eyebrows have been a very important part of the makeup scene for years now, but recently they have become one of the biggest trends in the beauty community. In fact, many will say they feel naked without their brows done. Particularly, the ‘brows on fleek’ trend has taken the world by storm. ‘Brows on fleek’, if you don’t already know, refers to a very filled in architectural brow. This usually has very sharp, clean edges – especially on the tail of the brow. This is especially great for those who have very sparse or minimal brow hairs. This look especially leaked its way into the everyday world through beauty gurus and makeup enthusiasts on Youtube and Instagram.

Violet Voss X Laura Lee Eyeshadow Palette
Hey everyone, today’s post is going to be about the Violet Voss X Laura Lee Eyeshadow Palette! Not going to lie, I was pretty excited about this palette when I first heard about it. First, I love Laura Lee and have been watching her Youtube channel for a long time. Second, I’ve been wanting to try a Violet Voss palette ever since there was a lot of buzz going around about how great their Holy Grail palette was. So let’s get into it!
So, if you love neutrals, especially warm neutrals, you are probably going to love this palette. This palette contains 20 eyeshadows-10 matte shades and 10 shimmer shades, so it is nicely balanced in that regard. The matte shades are super smooth and buttery feeling, as are the shimmers. All of the shades are super pigmented as well. You are able to get the most out of the shimmer shades by foiling them with a setting spray on your brush (or water even), though they still look really pretty as is. The matte shades are super easy to work with, they aren’t patchy and blend out really nicely.
Colourpop Zingara Eyeshadow Collection
Hey everyone! Today I am reviewing the Colourpop Zingara Eyeshadow Collection! This collection includes with four eyeshadows for only $18 – which is super affordable. It also comes in a super cute box, and I’m a sucker for packaging so I appreciated this. This is a very ‘fall’ looking collection, but definitely can be used all year ’round. The shades included are Paradox-a deep burgundy (satin finish), Jinxie-a shimmery gold/champagne, Elixir-an orange-y terracotta (matte finish), and Seeker-a deep reddish brown (matte finish).
Jeffree Star Beauty Killer Palette
Hey everyone! Today I’m going to be reviewing the Jeffree Star Beauty Killer Palette! I was so excited to order this palette, because I think Jeffree Star does some amazing makeup looks and is serious about makeup quality. Basically, I knew this eyeshadow palette had to be bomb. Let’s get into it!
As you can see, the colors are just beautiful in this palette. The palette consists of 10 eyeshadows: 4 mattes, 5 shimmers, and 1 matte with flecks of glitter in it. The pans are also really big, which is awesome. As you might expect from Jeffree Star, most of the colors are unique and more on the bold side. But, you still have a blending crease color, a base color, and a nice smokey color for adding depth. So, even though there are a lot of colorful shades, you do have the basics you need to create a makeup look all in one palette.
Berrisom Peel Off Lip Tint
Hi everyone! Today I am going to talk about the Berrisom Oops! My Lip Tint! If you haven’t seen any of the peel off makeup products from Korean beauty that have fascinated us all, then where have you been?? The peel off brow and lip stains have been the latest beauty fads, mostly because it’s such a fun and intriguing idea. (I did order and am waiting for the peel off brow tint as well, so stay tuned for that!) There are some other brands that carry the peel off tints, but Berrisom seems to be the best and the most popular. I went ahead and ordered the pack of 6, because why not?
2016 Trend: Non-Touring
Hi guys! I’m back again with yet another beauty trend for 2016, especially for this summer-‘non-touring’! This trend was made especially popular through models Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, who of course are both stunning ladies. Basically, the ‘non-touring’ trend is a no makeup makeup look with an emphasis on highlighting and no contouring (hence, ‘non-touring’). It’s supposed to give you that fresh faced, glowing ‘I woke up like dis’ look, even though clearly you did not woke up like dis.
Too Faced Peanut Butter Palette
Hey everyone! Today I’m going to be talking about the Too Faced Peanut Butter Palette! The whole idea behind this palette was just too cute to pass up; I mean who doesn’t love peanut butter and jelly?! Plus, it actually smells like peanut butter! Though, if you ask me it kind of smells more like chocolate and peanut butter mixed, which smells amazing by the way. Honestly, Too Faced is really killing it lately with their new products.
This palette has 9 colors in it, 3 of which are larger. All of the colors are more on the neutral side with warm browns and ivories, except for the 2 pops of purple which represent the ‘jelly’ shades. Also, the peanut butter themed names of the shades are too adorable, such as ‘nuts about u’, ‘spread the love’, ‘jammin’, and ‘extra creamy’. There are 3 matte shades and the rest are shimmers, all of which are super soft and creamy and have great pigment. They are also super blendable. The only really negative thing I have to say about this palette is that I wish that they had included one more matte shade, one that is a lighter brown to use as a transition shade for the crease. My favorite colors in this palette are ‘jelly’, a super bright shimmery purple, ‘nuts about u’, a very warm terracotta brown, and ‘spread the love’, a really pretty light pink shade with peachy/pink glitter.
2016 Trend: Glossy Skin
Hey everyone! One of the newer trends that has been seen on the runway and such lately has been glossy skin. Especially over the last year, shimmery powder and liquid hightlighters have taken the beauty world by storm. But this year, it seems as if the new trend may be a more natural glow. This is created by applying a beauty oil, Vaseline, or similar type product, to the skin. This would be lightly dabbed onto the skin in the same places that you would normally highlight-the top of the cheekbones, above the eyebrows, cupids bow, etc.
DIY Lipstick
Hi guys! So I found this amazing idea on Pinterest-DIY lipstick!! This looked so easy that I just had to try it out for myself. Now, to be honest, it almost made me even more skeptical as to how this would actually turn out because it was so simple. Does anyone else relate to this? Anyway, here is all that you will need to make your own lipstick: any loose pigment of your choosing and a lip balm product. Literally, that is it. So easy!
So I didn’t have any loose pigment that I wanted to part with on this experiment. Instead, I went to Target and bought 2 inexpensive blushes. I used blushes because they seemed way more pigmented than any eyeshadow that I could find there, plus they come in nice shades that could double as lip colors. I bought NYX Cosmetics High Definition Blush in Electro and CoverGirl Cheekers Blush in True Plum. As you can see, the NYX was a super hot pink color, and the Covergirl one was a nice mauve color.
Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip
Hi everyone! Colourpop is one of the most hot, up and coming brands right now. Not only do they have great quality products, but they are super affordable as well! Today I’m reviewing the new Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip. I’ve tried a few other products from Colourpop and loved them, so I was super excited to try out this new lip product.
