Hi guys! Welcome to my first beauty subscription unboxing post! This post will be about my May Ipsy bag. Technically then, I suppose this one would be an unbagging?? Oh well! I have been subscribed to Ipsy for over a year now and I absolutely love it! It’s such a great way to try new products without having to buy the full sized versions of them, which you may or may not like and can be quite expensive. An Ipsy subscription is only $10 a month and you get 5 (usually) trial sized products in each bag. They have so many brands, from high-end to starters, and so many types of products. They also give you a chance to really tailor what kinds of products you get in your bag with an in depth questionnaire that you take when you subscribe. You can also update this whenever you want, if your tastes change. Even further, you can log into your account and review each product you get in your bag each month, which also helps tailor your bag to what you like as well. Also, each month your products come in a different super cute little makeup bag!
Let’s start with our first product, the Eva Nyc Hungry Hair Oil Treatment. According to the bottle, this is basically an ultra nourishing oil for your hair. It is supposed to provide moisture and tame unruly hair. I did put a little in my hair to test it out real quick, and it did tame down some of my fly aways, but it also didn’t make my hair look or feel greasy/oily. Also, it smells really good.
The second product I got was The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Lip Balm. This is a clear balm that has shea butter and rose hip in it to make your lips super moisturized and soft. I am also guessing by the brand name that it is organic. I have applied this several times today and my first impression is that it’s okay. It’s your average balm-I wasn’t wowed by it, but I didn’t hate it either. It has a lemon-y scent and it isn’t sticky. It actually feels a bit more slick and oily, but not in an unpleasant way.
Next, I got an Inspr Fluff eye brush. This brush is nice and soft, but also kind of firm. It would be a great brush for more detailed application of color into your crease. To be honest, I can never have too many makeup brushes.
The next thing I got was the Jelly PIng Pong Caribbean Sun Bronzer Duo. This is basically a bronzer and blush duo. The colors are nice, the bronzer isn’t too orangey but it still might be a bit dark for my skintone. The blush is a very pretty coral peachy color. The only thing that I don’t really like about trial sized products such as this, is that since it has 2 colors in such a tiny container, it is really hard to get your brush in there to use it. Especially without hitting the other color.
The last, and probably most exciting, thing I got was the Smashbox X-Rated mascara. I haven’t tried this yet, but it looks promising and Smashbox is a great brand. I really like the wand, it’s on the larger side and it has a fiber wand, which I prefer over the silicone wands. I tend to find silicone wands too spikey feeling and that they don’t disperse the product as well.
So that’s it for this month’s Ipsy unboxing! To subscribe for your own monthly bag, visit Ipsy. Let me know if you have tried any of these products and, if you subscribe to Ipsy, what you got in your bag!
