Sephora Play! – October 2017

sephora play october 2017

Hey everyone!  I’m back with a Sephora Play unboxing for October!

I know I’ve been MIA for awhile, but let me just fill you in – Sephora is killing it with the beauty subscription box game.  They have really stepped up their game with the products they send and personalizing them more to each person, rather than everyone basically getting the same thing.  That being said, let’s get into October’s bag!

First thing, the obligatory perfume sample.  This one is Bel Azur by Tory Burch.  Usually I hate these because I am so picky about perfume scents.  But, I actually really like this one – hallelujah!  It smells clean but with a slight warm kind of note too it as well.  I have no idea if that makes any sense, I have no idea how to describe scents.  Next is a sample of Dr. Brandt Poredermabrasion Pore Perfecting Exfoliator.  That’s a mouthful.  I have actually used this a couple times before because I’ve gotten it in a beauty subscription service, whether it be Sephora, Birchbox, or Ipsy, I can’t remember.  But I really do enjoy this product, its exfoliating but still gentle.

I then got a sample of the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist.  As you might know if you read my review on this, I love this face spray.  Here’s my review if you want to check it out.  I also got the Urban Decay Optical Illusion Complexion Primer.  I was really excited to see this actually, because I’ve been wanting to try one of their newer primers.  This does transform to match your skintone like it claims, and does a decent job of filling pores.  Though, you do have to be careful not to rub it too much, or it starts to pill.

The next thing I received was the Makeup For Ever Ultra HD Foundation in the shade Y245.  I’ve tried this foundation already and I’m not a huge fan to be honest (unpopular opinion?).  I just don’t think it provides that much coverage or looks that amazing, like everyone seems to think it does.  Like, its okay.  But, I was kind of impressed that the shade they sent is actually not a horrible match, since I tend to run on the fair side.  The last thing I got was the Makeup For Ever Ultra HD Skin Booster Serum.  I am most attracted to this because it comes in a tiny eye dropper bottle (so cute!).  But it does actually feel moisturizing to the skin without being heavy, since it’s a serum.

Well, that was it for this month’s Sephora Play unboxing.  Have you tried any of these products, and what do you think?  Also, if you subscribe to Sephora Play, share what you got in your box this month!

Birchbox – February 2017

birchbox february 2017

Welcome to February’s Birchbox!  Right off the bat, I have to say that I really love this month’s box, it’s super cute and Valentines Day themed!  But, what matters is what’s inside, so let’s get into it!

I’m going to start with the product I was most excited about, which is the Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant.  I really like this, it makes your skin baby soft after using it.  That being said, I don’t know if I would ever pay the $79 for the full product (eesh!).  The next thing I got was a BioRepublic Skincare Cucumber Breeze Soothing Fiber Mask.  This is essentially your basic sheet mask, it felt nice and cooling  while on but I don’t know if it really did a whole lot.

Ipsy Bag – February 2017

Ipsy february 2017

Welcome to February’s Ipsy bag!  Unlike some of my other beauty subscriptions this month, this one is very un-Valentines Day looking, which I’m not sure I’m happy or mad about.  But, that’s neither here nor there.  What matters is the products, so let’s get into it!

The first thing that immediately stood out to me, partly because it didn’t actually fit in the makeup bag, was this Luxie Beauty 514 blush brush.  This brush is so pretty, it’s a light pink handle with rose gold.  It’s also super soft and great for applying blush or bronzer without getting too heavy handed.  Speaking of bronzer, I also got the Elizabeth Mott Whatup Beaches matte bronzer.  First of all, I love the name.  Second of all, how am I supposed to actually dip a brush into this microscopic bronzer?? Like, literally its the size of my thumb nail.

Sephora Play! – February 2017

February Sephora Play! Bag

This is my first Sephora Play! subscription bag, and I’m super excited!!  As you might expect, the bag for February is very sexy and sultry looking…well as much as a bag can be.  I do like the bag idea, instead of a box, because at least you can repurpose it in a more practical way.  I also have to say, that already the Sephora Play! subscription has a lot more brands and products that I have heard of and have wanted to try than some of the other beauty subscriptions.  So let’s discuss what we got!

Ipsy Unboxing: June 2016

june ipsy unboxing

Hey guys!  Today’s post is going to be my June Ipsy unboxing!  A little late now that it’s the beginning of July, but better late than never-right??  If you are unfamiliar with Ipsy, then make sure you check out my first Ipsy unboxing post, where I explain the service in depth!  Otherwise, let’s jump right in!

The first thing I got this month was the Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray.  This is a  texturizing spray that is supposed to give you sea salt beachy waves, like you have been swimming in the ocean.  Basically turn you into a mermaid-which I’m all for.  It smells super good too, like coconut and sunscreen-very beachy.

Birchbox Unboxing: June 2016

birchbox unboxing

Hey guys!  Today is going to be my June Birchbox unboxing!  If you are unfamiliar with Birchbox and how it works, check out my first Birchbox unboxing where I explain how this beauty subscription box works!  Well, let’s just dive in to this month’s box, shall we?!

Let’s just start off with the most exciting product in this month’s box, which was the new Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel in the shade ‘5 Deep’.  If you haven’t heard, Benefit just came out with a TON of new eyebrow products, which is super exciting!  While the Gimme Brow isn’t really a ‘new’ product, they did reformulate it and added this super awesome new packaging.  I was even more excited to receive this because I haven’t actually ever tried the Gimme Brow yet and have been wanting to.  The only down side is that it is a bit darker than I’d prefer, but with a light hand I think I can make it work.

Birchbox Unboxing: May 2016

birchbox unboxing         birchbox unboxing

Hey everyone!  Today’s post will be my May Birchbox unboxing!  This is my first Birchbox ever because I just signed up a few weeks ago.  I really love these subscription services because it’s so fun to try new brands and different types of products without the risk of spending a ton of money.  If you aren’t familiar with Birchbox, it is a $10/month beauty subscription service.  Each month they send you 5, usually trial sized, beauty products to try out.  If you are familiar with Ipsy, it’s very similar (also, if you haven’t read my May Ipsy unboxing, check it out!).  Although  with Birchbox, you are able to get some products that are not necessarily beauty related if you choose, unlike Ipsy.  Another thing that Birchbox does that Ipsy does not is they give you a card with the products with descriptions listed on it, as well as prices of the full size products.  I really like this because it gives you more information about the products and also gives you an idea of the money you are saving by being able to test the products out, as opposed to just buying them and hoping they are good.  One downfall with Birchbox is that you do get a more tailored questionnaire of what you like with Ipsy, so that your bag has more products that you personally enjoy in it.

Ipsy Unboxing: May 2016

ipsy unboxing

Hi guys!  Welcome to my first beauty subscription unboxing post!  This post will be about my May Ipsy bag.  Technically then, I suppose this one would be an unbagging??  Oh well!  I have been subscribed to Ipsy for over a year now and I absolutely love it!  It’s such a great way to try new products without having to buy the full sized versions of them, which you may or may not like and can be quite expensive.  An Ipsy subscription is only $10 a month and you get 5 (usually) trial sized products in each bag.  They have so many brands, from high-end to starters, and so many types of products.  They also give you a chance to really tailor what kinds of products you get in your bag with an in depth questionnaire that you take when you subscribe.  You can also update this whenever you want, if your tastes change.  Even further, you can log into your account and review each product you get in your bag each month, which also helps tailor your bag to what you like as well.  Also, each month your products come in a different super cute little makeup bag!
