Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Foundation

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Broad Spectrum FoundationHey everyone!  Literally so excited to have finally gotten a couple of the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea products!!  I picked them up at my local Sephora location inside JCPenney.  They actually didn’t have the collection out yet, but they got it from their secret hiding place for me when I asked about it-talk about VIB!  One of the products I purchased was the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Foundation, which I’ve been really itching to try.  First of all, can we please talk about the packaging?  It is beyond beautiful.  It comes in a frosted glass bottle and has a dropper to dispense the product, which is pretty fun to use.

It claims to be a full coverage foundation, but I would probably say it’s a little more towards medium/full coverage depending on your skin.  It’s definitely buildable though.  I ended up using about 3 full drops out of the dropper on my face.  It applies nicely to the skin-it isn’t patchy or cakey or hard to blend.  I prefer a beauty blender, as opposed to a brush, to apply this foundation as well.  I think the beauty blender gives a more flawless finish.  It is also very lightweight after applied; it doesn’t feel like you are even wearing foundation.  It isn’t sticky or wet feeling after applied either, like some foundations can be.  It feels very moisturizing as well, but it doesn’t have a very dewy finish, it is more on the matte/satin finish side.   I happen to like this because I have oily skin.  Though since it does feel so moisturizing, I think this would work for those with dry skin as well.  It says it is supposed to wear for 12 hours, but mine only looked fresh for about 8-ish hours, which is still a good amount of time considering I don’t normally touch up during the day.  It should be noted that I do always set my foundation with translucent powder.  After about 8 hours it did start to kind of wear off a bit on my oily trouble spots, like my nose and chin, which is a lot longer than a lot of foundations I have tried.

Overall, I really like this foundation so far.  I think it applies well and looks really nice on the skin.  It retails for $39 at both Sephora and Tarte and there are 12 shades available.  Let me know if you have tried this out and what you thought!
